Guest exhibition: BEYOND SHOJI
Works by the multimedia artist Kanjo TAKÉ
We are pleased to be able to show impressive works by the Japanese-German multimedia artist Kanjo TAKÉ at the JDZB this summer thanks to the kind support of the Ernst Poensgen Foundation. They are from the work "NOWHERE OR 36 VIEWS OF FUJIYAMA". TAKÉ's video installation "BEYOND SHOJI" can also be seen on selected occasions. The installation was shown at the Venice Architecture Biennale 2018 and award-winning also at the Tashkent Art Biennale.
With the installation, we invite you to direct your gaze also to what is happening beyond the obvious, to look closely and thus to open up new worlds of experience. The artist's aim is "for people to reflect on their own lives. I held the mirror up to them and I want the viewers to ask themselves: 'Do we want this? Or do we want to change something?' And I would like them to take these very changes into their own hands" (Dr. Sabine Schnackenberg, Hamburg 2018).
Side events:
3 July (Mon): 17.00 - 21.00 #OpenMonday
23 August (Wed): 17.00 - 21.00 Finissage in the presence of the artist.
Registration is not necessary.
