Hazama
– a visual arts festival
The scholars of the Tobitate program, funded by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology (MEXT), are curating at the JDZB a cross-media space that shows a diverse range of artistic expressions, including analog and digital films, performances, photos, architectures, art exhibitions and video installations.
“Hazama” -a transitional space. The Japanese word “Hazama” indicates a small limited space, where similarities end and differences start. The organisers use this word in the physical sense as well as in the abstract context of age, culture, language, and occupation. With this event they create a transitional space where people can inspire each other across age, nationality, media, language, culture and occupation.
