The lecture "Japan and Germany: 1982-2024 Overview and outlook from the perspective of a Japanese diplomat“ on 20. September by H.E. Hidenao Yanagi, Ambassador of Japan to Germany, was met with great interest by the guests present at the Japanese-German Center Berlin | JDZB and those connected online.

Based on his 42-year diplomatic career, including 15 years of experience in Germany, the Ambassador held an insightful speech about Japanese-German relations. In the discussion with Dr. Alexandra Sakaki from the Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik (SWP), moderated by Dr. Phoebe Stella Holdgrün, Head of Project Management at the JDZB, and in a lively exchange with the audience, further security policy and personal topics were addressed.
