In the spring of 2016, the German-Japanese Energy Transition Council (GJETC) was established by ECOS Consult, the Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment, Energy, Hennicke Consult and the Institute for Energy Economics Japan. The Council of Experts is supported by various ministries and foundations and discusses energy and climate issues. It meets twice a year, commissions studies and provides recommendations to the Japanese and German governments. The JDZB organizes the meetings in Germany.
