New: Video documentation of the symposium "Nuclear Disarmament, Arms Control, and Non-Proliferation"

22nd April 2021

German and Japanese Perspectives ahead of the 10th Review Conference to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT)

In 2020, the 75th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations and the 50th anniversary of the entry-into-force of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) were celebrated. At the same time, 2020 also stands for commemorating the 75th year after the horror of the atomic bombings on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Against this backdrop, the JDZB, in cooperation with the German Federal Foreign Office (AA) – which also supported the event with a grant–, the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) and the Japan Institute of International Affairs (JIIA), held a virtual symposium on December 3 and 4.
In particular, the imminent entry-into-force of the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons in early 2021 led to a lively exchange about different positions represented here at the virtual table.

The video documentation of this event is now available on the YouTube Channel of the  JDZB:
Playlist of the videos of day 1 in German/Japanese with subtitles
