Round-up: Finissage of the Exhibition “Expo Dialogues: Japan and Germany – Past, Present, Future” (June 30, 2025)
17th July 2025
On June 30, our exhibition “Expo Dialogues: Japan and Germany – Past, Present, Future” concluded with a finissage and a panel discussion. Many guests came to the JDZB to view the works of Thomas Schriefers on the final day of the exhibition and to gain impressions of Expo 2025 Osaka.
During the panel, the artist Thomas Schriefers, H.E. Mitsuko Shino, Ambassador of Japan, Martin Eberts, President of the German-Japanese Society Berlin and former Consul General in Osaka-Kobe, as well as our Secretary General Dr. Julia Münch, engaged in a lively discussion. They shared many facts, exciting experiences, and anecdotes from the Expo. Mr. Schriefers also presented his newly created drawings of the current Expo pavilions, which he had sketched on-site in Osaka, and gave a final guided tour of the exhibition at the JDZB.
By the way, the exhibition will be on display again starting in October at the Japanese Cultural Institute Cologne / The Japan Foundation – a great opportunity for anyone who would like to experience the works once more.
