The Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) 2025
JLPT 2025 – Registration and Participation Guidelines
The Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) evaluates and certifies the Japanese language proficiency of non-native speakers.
The next JLPT, for levels N1 to N5, will be held on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at the Japanese-German Center Berlin (JDZB). Please refer to the test schedule below for details.
Online registration begins on July 14, 2025 at 13:00 (CET).
Test Participation Requirements
Please read the following policy carefully. Failure to follow these rules will result in immediate disqualification without exception:
Public Transportation Schedule – Please check Sunday’s public transportation schedules in advance. Organizers cannot be held responsible for missed exams due to delays or disruptions in public transport.
Access to the Building - Due to space limitations, you are not permitted to enter the building before your designated assembly time. Early arrivals must wait outside.
Test Voucher - Please make sure to bring a printed copy of the test voucher with you on the test day.
No Mobile and Electronic Devices – Use of mobile phones or any other electronic devices —including making electronic sounds— at any time inside the building will result in immediate disqualification without exception. These devices must be completely switched off and placed in a sealed envelope, which will be provided by the JDZB on the test day. The envelope must remain unopened until you exit the building after the test.
No Exit During Breaks - Leaving the building during breaks is not permitted.
Silence During Breaks - Since other levels may still be in session during your break, please remain quiet at all times.
After the Test – Please leave the building quietly and promptly after completing your test.
For test takers requesting Special Testing Accommodations (STA) - Due to space limitations at the JDZB and the STA application process, STA requests may not always be granted.
