Both artists reflect their view on the phenomena of the material and transcendental world. AKIMOTO Naomi explores the physical and tactual qualities of our environment, while Claudia SCHMACKE's sculptures, installations and videos capture movement and ephemeral phenomena.
The artistic exploration of natural phenomena through clay and ceramic art as a means of physical expression is of crucial importance for both artists. AKIMOTO Naomi and Claudia SCHMACKE will present new works especially designed for this exhibition as well as already existing works.
