The “Future of Democracy” will be the theme of a JDZB series of annual events to discuss issues related to the state of democracy from a political science perspective. The inaugural event in September 2021 will focus in particular on the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the political systems of Japan and Germany, as well as the results of the German parliamentary elections and the Japanese lower house elections in 2021.
