Symposium: The Role of Nursing Staff
New Impulses for the Role of Nursing Staff in the Professional Care of Elderly People
Conference Report (German/Japanese) available (see below)
Securing and organising the provision of healthcare and nursing care by qualified nursing staff is one of the major challenges posed by demographic change in Germany and Japan. The question of the role of nursing professionals as well as strategies for qualification, organisation and personnel mix in nursing care are the main topics of this symposium.
The symposium will discuss the situation of professional nursing staff and will also address the problem of the shortage of nursing staff as well as approaches to solutions for reorganising nursing tasks and securing the supply of skilled staff in nursing care for the elderly, e.g. in the "Concerted Action Nursing". Further topics will be, for example, the allocation of personnel in nursing care and processes of cooperation between medical and nursing staff. The symposium will bring together experts from academic research and hands-on experience and provide an opportunity to exchange thoughts on experiences, strategies and procedures between Germany and Japan, countries strongly affected by demographic change.
The symposium is the sixth in a series on demographic change and health to be organized by the Japanese-German Center Berlin (JDZB) in cooperation with the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare and the Federal Ministry of Health.
The event will be simultaneously interpreted in German and Japanese.
