Track 1.5 Japanese-German Security Dialogue – Public Symposium
Current Challenges for Security Politics in Asia and Europe
In this context, also Germany and Japan are bolstering their relations further. The joint flight of German and Japanese Air Force jets close to Mount Fuji during the Bundeswehr’s Rapid Pacific deployment in 2022 illustrates one aspect of the deepened German-Japanese partnership. However, beyond that, how do both countries approach current security challenges occurring in Asia and Europe? Which specific steps are to be taken to implement security strategies, and in which fields could Asian and European partners cooperate closer?
These questions and more will be discussed at the public symposium on Current Challenges for Security Politics in Asia and Europe,
which is jointly organized by the Japanese-German Center Berlin (JDZB), Heinrich Böll Stiftung, The Japan Institute of International Affairs (JIIA), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and the German Federal Foreign Office within the framework of the Japanese-German Security Dialogue Track 1.5, 2023.
